Code For Sustainable Homes
The Code for Sustainable Homes was the national standard for the sustainable design and construction of new homes until it was withdrawn as part of the Housing Standards Review.
Following the review, LPAs (Local Planning Authorities) are now no longer able to condition compliancy with the Code for Newly approved dwellings.
However, where there are existing contractual arrangements, for example with Registered Social Landlords under the Affordable Funding Programme 2015-2018 or existing planning approvals with associated conditions, we are able to continue to register and certify against the Code.
